Guide Description
Welcome to the University of Arkansas Libraries’ website on rice research and practice. Arkansas is a national and international leader in rice production, technology, and information. The University of Arkansas offers comprehensive programs to farmers, scientists, students, and governments in rice research, extension, education, marketing, and policy developments. Through its partnership with Arkansas farmer-owned cooperatives, the Rice Research and Promotion Board, and other groups, the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture serves as a major resource for research and education regarding the world's most important food crop.
This site is part of the Agriculture Network Information Center. As part of this Network, this site aims to provide selective quality resources relating to rice research in the developed world for researchers, information specialists, educators, and the public.
On this website you will find links to online resources including abstracts and indexes that are available for free or require subscription. These will point the researcher in the right direction to find comprehensive information on all aspects of rice.
Open Access articles points to freely available web resources that the University of Arkansas Libraries added to its AgNIC portal. To access the full text, click on "View" to see the complete record, and then on the full-text link in the field labelled as URL.
The catalogs of libraries in the top six rice producing states in the United States and the departments and colleges where most of rice research is conducted are also included.
The website also lists rice organizations/associations, research boards, companies that import, export, or process rice, rice statistics, news of the industry, information on conferences, and delicious recipes.
