Should I?

Register my copyright?

If you register your copyright you may have an easier time dealing with infringement issues that might arise.  In the United States, your work does not need to be registered to be protected.

Register through ProQuest

Graduate students, as you are required to deposit your thesis or dissertation with ProQuest, you might choose to take advantage of their service to register your copyright.  They take care of all the paperwork and deposit of materials as appropriate with the Library of Congress.  You will need to complete a form and pay a fee to ProQuest.
