Introduction

Geographic information systems (GIS) is a cross-disciplinary tool for viewing and analyzing information with a spatial component. Working with superimposed maps and data in a GIS brings a new perspective to fields including marketing, health and emergency services, agriculture, archaeology, environmental science, energy and more.  Learn more about applications of GIS.
