About

Historically, the Libraries received a large number of scientific and technical publications from NASA covering aeronautics, space, and supporting disciplines, but the collection is modest when compared with the number actually published. Some were received in paper and some on fiche; today most items are published online. The series best represented in the historical fiche collection are SP, TN, TP, and CR; there are also scattered documents from the TM, RP, TR, EP, TMX, CP, and TT series.

Arrangement

Special Publications (SP) titles were usually received in paper and separately cataloged.
The Technical Notes (TN) series, one of the largest in our collection, were usually received in paper and cataloged in the series located under call number TL 521 A353 in Storage and on fiche in the Government Documents Department.
NASA Contractor Reports (CR) have been received in both paper and fiche and are located in Storage and Government Documents under call number TL 521 A3516.
Ask us for items in the Technical Memoranda (TM), Reference Publications (RP), and Technical Reports (TR) series.

U.S. documents published from 1976 - are generally found in OneSearch. Not all NASA technical reports may be cataloged, however. Use the indexes listed below to identify older documents and then Ask Us for help in locating and paging the item from our collections.
