In addition to his service in state and national politics, Congressman Brooks Hays was an active and devout Baptist, serving as the president of the Southern Baptist Convention from 1957 to 1959, and a prolific writer.

Variety of personal and official correspondence and other material created, received, or collected by Faubus (1910-1978) or by staff members of the Arkansas gubernatorial office (1955 -1967)

The collection includes materials from Senator Pryor's time as publisher of the Ouachita Citizen, his terms in the Arkansas General Assembly and United States House of Representatives, his two terms as governor of Arkansas, and to his term in the United States Senate.
