Physics TAs may hold office hours, tutoring sessions, and class group study sessions in the Physics Library during the times we're open to the public. After-hour meetings and groups study sessions are prohibited. Only Physics Library key holders may access and use the Physics Library after hours.
After-hours access to the Physics Library is available to department faculty and graduate students who have been issued keys through the Physics Office. Access to the library afterhours is a privilege and key holders must agree to take responsibility for caring for the space and for ensuring the security of the collections and equipment in the library. If you are physics graduate student or physics department TA and you do not currently have a Physics Library key, you may request one by emailing physlib@uark.edu. All key holders must read and sign a key holder agreement before a key card will be issued.
This Physics Library has two main areas: our large collaboration and computer lab space and our backroom quiet study space.
Collaboration Space
Great for holding group study sessions, class tutoring, open office hours, or individual study.
Quiet Study
Located in our east back room, along with the majority of our print collection, this space is great if you need a little bit of quiet to help you focus. Absolutely no phone calls or talking is allowed back in this space. Whispering here or there is fine though!
Patrons have access to a variety of services from the Libraries. Below are some of the services that might be particularly helpful to you in your graduate school career.
