Interlibrary Loan Service

Not finding what you need in OneSearch? For materials that we do not have current access to in our library collections, our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service borrows materials from other libraries for your use.

To use the ILL service

  • Register as an ILL user on the ILLiad system using your Uark email and password (link provided below).
  • For books or book chapters, fill out a request form in the ILLiad system, or use the ILLiad link in the WorldCat database (link provided below).
  • For articles, most article databases allow you to place requests directly through the Find it! service. You can also type article requests into ILLiad manually.

Timing of the ILL service

  • Articles & book chapters: generally arrive in 1-2 working days as PDF files. You will be notified by email when it is available.
  • Books and other physical items: generally arrive within 5 working days. You will receive an email when an item is available and it will be held for you at your chosen pick up location (typically the Help Desk in Mullins Library).

CRL: Center for Research Libraries

The Center for Research Libraries (CRL) is a cooperative collection of esoteric research materials not widely held in U.S. Libraries. CRL collections include:

  • foreign and U.S. newspapers
  • foreign government documents
  • foreign theses
  • large microfilm sets of manuscript collections
  • extensive holdings in area studies: Latin America, Africa, South Asia, and Southeast Asia

Our membership in CRL allows you to borrow their collections for long-term use or access materials  that have been digitized online.
