In some cases, gaps exist in database coverage, but these gaps are not expressed well in Serials Solutions. When this occurs, users will often submit a Catalog Error Report noting the coverage gap. If you receive such a report, complete the following procedure.
- Verify the lack of access.
- Update the holdings in the Sierra Coverage Edit if possible to set a firm "actual" start or end date.
- Report the issue to the vendor.
- It does no good to report these to Serials Solutions because they are getting the metadata from the vendor--so the correction needs to occur on the vendor level.
