The Metropolitan Museum of Art maintains a searchable database of the museum's collections. Some images can be downloaded and used. Personal members of the Society of Architectural Historians have access to SAHARA, an excellent resource for images in architectural history.
JSTOR provides a searchable database of more than four million images.
