The papers of J. William Fulbright consist of more than 1,400 linear feet of correspondence, speeches, legislative bills, photographs, and other records pertaining to the governmental, political, and diplomatic issues with which he was concerned. The papers document his thirty-two-year public career in the U.S. House and Senate, especially his tenure as chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee for the years 1959-1975.

Dale Bumpers was the Governor of Arkansas and a US Senator. Senator Bumpers' long career spanned the entirety of the Back to the Land movement of the 1970s and 1980s in Arkansas. Bumpers was an advocate for environmental protection as well as agricultural development. Materials primarily relate to Bumpers' service as Senator.

The David H. Pryor Papers document the life and career of a politician and statesman. Because Pryor has held key positions in the civic and political life of the state and the nation, the collection offers valuable resources for research in Arkansas history and politics, including public policies relating to such topics as aging, government reform, agriculture, defense, and taxpayer rights.

John Paul Hammerschmidt was a member of the U.S. air force and republican politician. This collection includes biographical data, correspondence, legislative and committee materials, personal and office financial records, speeches, press releases, posters, audio and video tapes, and ephemera.

Orval Faubus was elected to six consecutive terms (1955-1967) as Governor of Arkansas, and attracted international attention for his controversial role in the Little Rock, Ark. Central High School racial desegregation crisis (1957-1959). Faubus also oversaw the state's response to several environmental issues. The collection includes records created, received, or collected by Faubus (1910-1978) or by staff members of the Arkansas gubernatorial office (1955 -1967).

The collection consists of correspondence, policy studies, newspaper clippings and a videotape pertaining to the passage of the Arkansas Wilderness Act of 1984.
