Circulation & User Services

Research support includes several services provided through the Libraries' Circulation Department and User Services that enable ready access to essential materials.

User Services
Provides students, faculty, and staff with easy and convenient access to library services and physical materials while regulating the circulation of materials to ensure their availability.
Faculty Authorization
Faculty may authorize research assistants (graduate students or staff) to check out library materials for your use and/or to pick up Interlibrary Loan materials. Undergraduate students may be granted authorization only if they are employed by the faculty member.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
The ILL service allows you to obtain resources not currently held within the libraries collections. Login to ILLiad with your UARK email to request an item, check the status of a request, or view an electronic document. Available to current students, faculty, staff, and other University of Arkansas affiliates at no cost.
Library Annex
The Libraries' high-density annex provide a climate-controlled environment for the university's growing library collection of books and other materials, while freeing up needed space in Mullins Library. The 27,000-foot storage facility can accommodate approximately 1.8 million volumes. Materials are paged from the Library Annex multiple times each weekday and you can request items using OneSearch.

Digital & Virtual Services

The Libraries' Digital Services Department is available to discuss your digitization needs. We also offer support for connecting you and your students to library resources and services virtually.

Digital Services Department
The Libraries' Digital Services Department primarily performs large-scale digitization projects of rare materials. They assist in the creation of multiform digital collections and provide dynamic and engaging services by enabling access to our digital materials.

Our University Libraries provide resources, services, and expert help online.

Open Education, Data & Publishing

Members of the Open Education, Data, & Publishing (OEDP) Department are available for consultations on scholarly communications and publishing, data management and federal data guidelines, copyright use and author rights, locating and creating no-cost materials for student use and much more.

In addition, they provide funding opportunities to assist authors in publishing open journal articles, maintain an institutional repository to disseminate research products, and provide funding to assist faculty to create and adapt open educational textbooks.

Data Services
Data Services personnel available for consultations and instructional sessions and can assist with locating and manipulating data for research, answering data management questions, identifying data repositories, assisting with DMPs, and loading ORCiD profile information.

Office of Scholarly Communications
We assist faculty with open access publishing and managing participation in our transformative agreements. We also offer information about publishing, and author's rights.

ScholarWorks@UARK highlights a growing collection of faculty publications, presentations, student work and teaching materials.
