This guide contains information to help you navigate through useful library resources for higher education students, faculty, and other researchers. Studies at the UA include, for example, higher education administration, student affairs, educational leadership, and educational policy.

The following pages will aid in general library research, finding books and articles, professional resources, such as associations and their publications, and managing your citations.  Please contact us for further help and give us feedback on this guide.

Accessing Databases from Off Campus

When you are on campus you will not be asked for a  password or login on databases and journals we own. But if you are, then check to be sure that

  • the UA catalog record says we own the journal electronically for the year and volume you want
  • that no mention of a password is made on the catalog (bibliographic) record. Occasionally a record will say "password available at the Mullins Help Desk." Call (479) 575-6645 or 866-818-8115 to reach the Mullins Help Desk.
  • you are connecting through the UA Libraries' webpage, not just searching on the web.

To access subscription databases and journals from off-campus you will need to login with your university ID and password. The proxy login page should display automatically when you attempt to access any secured resources.  The login is the same as you use for U of A email. You may be prompted to log in every 15 minutes or so, this is normal.  You can also download and install VPN software if you prefer, for more information on remote access, click below:
