Adding an Item in Omeka

1. Log in at https://uarkstudentexhibits.omeka.net/admin/users/login.  

2. From the dashboard, click “Exhibits” 

3. Find your exhibit in the list, and click “Edit”

  1. From your exhibit, scroll down and select the name of the page you want to add items to.

  1. Select the layout you want for your content by clicking one of the options under “Select Layout,” and click the green “add new content block” button.

  1. Click “add item” and select your item from the list.

  1.  Then click “select item.” When adding the item, you will be given the option to provide a caption. Depending on the layout you’ve chosen, you may also add some exhibit text here. 

Omeka tip: when adding text, we suggest writing and editing your exhibit text in a separate document, then pasting into the appropriate field in Omeka when your text is ready to be published.

  1. When you are done adding your item and text to the page, click the green “save changes button” on the right side of the screen. You can also preview the page by clicking “view public page.” 
  2. Follow steps 3-7 to continue adding all items you plan to include in your exhibit.
