My name is Steven Austin and I am a finance major here at the University of Arkansas. I have always had a passion for helping people and believe it is my purpose. I look forward to being able to assist you in the best way possible!
The purpose of the Minority and Women Owned Business (MWOB) Recommendations guide is to be a facilitation tool for MWOBs to do business with the University of Arkansas.
In previous interactions via Expos and in-person consultations, vendors have expressed a desire to have a resource that will provide the step-by-step process for creating a partnership with the U of A.
There are a total of five steps for becoming a certified MWOB with the U of A:
Step 1 - Register your business with the U of A
Step 2 - Register your business with the Arkansas Office of State Procurement
Step 3 - Submit your business information to the Arkansas Economic Development Commission (AEDC)
Step 4 - Certify your business through the AEDC
Step 5 - Request notifications about new opportunities with the U of A
The facilitators and creators of the MWOB Recommendations facilitation tool are:
- Martha Anderson, MWOB Project Manager
- Keiry Flores, Assistant to the MWOB Project Manager. In addition, Flores is a food nutrition and health student at the U of A.
- Steven Austin Jr., Assistant to the MWOB Project Manager. Austin is also a finance major student at the U of A.
The main resource for becoming a certified MWOB with the U of A is the Office of Procurement's Minority and Women Owned Business site:
