Building Emergency

For emergencies impacting people, refer to the Mullins Library Building Emergency Action Plan.

In the event of fire or other life-threatening emergency, call 9-1-1 or UAPD at (479) 575-2222.

Collections Emergency

For emergencies impacting collections, a response plan is currently in development.

The safety and well-being of yourself and others is the priority in any disaster. Do not risk harm; wait for an all-clear by first responders before undertaking any material salvage.

General guidelines for responding to a non-life threatening collections disaster:

  • Identify the emergency or threat
  • Report the emergency or threat
  • Evacuate patrons and personnel from the area
  • Do not enter area until emergency or threat has been stopped (e.g., water has been turned off and is no longer leaking from a pipe)
  • Retrieve disaster response kit
  • Cordon off the area
  • Assess the damage
  • Start to stabilize the environment
  • Start recovery procedures
