About Credo Reference E-books

Credo Reference is a collection of dictionaries and encyclopedias from many publishers.

The Libraries obtain access to Credo titles in two ways:

  • the majority of Credo titles are part of an annual subscription collection "Credo Academic Core")
  • a small number of titles are purchased individually.  ("Credo Reference All Titles")

Where can I find them?

Most are in OneSearch. 
Pro tip: Use the OneSearch Material Type filter for "Reference Entries" to limit your results to articles in online dictionaries and encyclopedias like those in Credo Reference.

How many simultaneous users?

Titles are licensed for unlimited users.

Do I need a special account?

No.

Are there download or print limits?

No.

Can I read offline?

Individual entries may be downloaded in PDF format or saved to Google drive.

Is special software needed?

No.

How long may I check a book out to read offline?

Individual entries may usually be downloaded and kept indefinitely.  

Read Online

Credo entries have:

  1. Tools for saving, sharing citing, reading aloud, and translating the item
  2. (for longer entries) a bibliography listing sources or recommended additional reading. Use the Find it! links to find these items in our collections.

Linking for Classroom Use

The site allows multiple users to read the e-book at a time.
