Your LibApps Profile

Information about LibGuides authors appears in a Profile Box and in an extended Profile Page.

Edit your Profile Box or Page by logging into LibApps ior chaging to LibApps from LibGuides then choose My Profile in the top orange menu bar. 

By default your Profile Box appears on your main profile page. It includes your title, an image, contact information, a list of the subject areas you cover, and other information.

Setting up / Editing your Profile Box

Edit your Profile Box in the main LibApps dashboard by clicking My Profile on the orange menu bar.

Title & Image

Profile Box Title

This can be your title (i.e. Communication Librarian) or something generic like "Reference  Librarian". Whatever it is, keep it short so that it fits in the narrow column.

Profile Image

Upload an image of yourself from your computer.

Best PracticceBest Practice: 
Recommended ratio is 2:3 or at least 200 pixels wide by 300 pixels tall. Be careful about the file size.
Head shots are preferred but not required.

Contact Info

No surprises here. You can choose to show contact info on your box, your profile page, or both. 


  • If you enter an office address, spell out the name of the building (Mullins Library not MULN)).
  • Hit enter to start a new line.
  • Enter your phone number in the format: 479-575-1234.
  • Tip: I like to type my email address here, so that it can be read and copied.

Email Address

  • Enter your UARK email address.
  • This will create the big Email Me button.

Skype / Website / Blog:

Include your Skype address or website / blog address if you have those and wish to use them to communicate with students.

Social Media 

Include the social media platforms that you wish to use in interacting with students (optional).  

You can also input the Libraries' Social Media services:

Social Cataloging

If you have a LibraryThing, GoodReads, or Shelfari account that you wish to share with students,  you can enter those details here. This will be a URL to your profile on those sites (not a widget).



Use the library-wide Chat with a Librarian box on the AAASearch Boxes and Widgets Guide.

Remember that more than one chat box on a page can break Research Guides.

Profile Boxes

Add a profile box

  • Click the link to Add a box at the bottom of the left column
  • Give the box a name (example: History Librarian)
  • Choose type = Profile Box
  • Save


Move a profile box

  • On the Page menu , choose reorder... Boxes. 
  • Drag and drop the Profile box to the left column (column 0).


Remove a Profile Box

  • Click the X in the upper right hand corner of the box to delete or suppress it.

Wrong box title?

When a guide is transferred from one owner to another, the Profile Box will display the new guide owner's profile, but may have a box title that doesn't match.

To fix this:

  • Click the pencil editing tool on the Box Title bar.
  • Change the Box name.

Displaying someone else's profile?

They may have added a profile box manually.

To fix this:

  • Click on the gear icon on the box to change the profile being displayed.
