EndNote Exporting and Importing Instructions

Help with exporting citations from library databases into your EndNote account.

Credo

Credo Reference has a quick toolbar on most full text entires that allows you to email, save, and share records. But look a little farther to find the option to export records to EndNote.


For Multiple Records:

  1. Conduct your search.
  2. On the results page, select the entries that you want to export by clicking the Save icon to the left of each search result.
    You can also select items to export when viewing the full-text entry. Click the Save box to the entry heading.
  3. On the top menu bar, click "Saved Results" which appears at the top of every page.
  4. In the Action box, select Export to Reference Manager" and click the Go button. Your file will be saved with a *.do extension.
  5. Log into EndNote Basic / Web, if you are not already logged in.
  6. Choose Collect > Import References.
  7. Browse to locate your saved file
  8. For Import Option, choose RefMan RIS.
  9. Select the destination folder and press Import.

 

For Single Record Export:

  1. Conduct your search.
  2. On the results page, click on the name of the entry that you want to export to see the full record.
  3. On the top menu, choose Share and Export and then Reference Manager.
  4. Your file will be saved with a *.do extension.
  5. Log into EndNote Basic / Web, if you are not already logged in.
  6. Choose Collect > Import References.
  7. Browse to locate your saved file
  8. For Import Option, choose RefMan RIS.
  9. Select the destination folder and press Import.
