EndNote Exporting and Importing Instructions

Help with exporting citations from library databases into your EndNote account.

Instructions

  1. Search for the record(s) you wish to export.
    1. To view a record, click its title.
    2. Above and to the right of the title, click Cite Cite button.
    3. In the pop-up, click .ris on the bottom left.
    4. If prompted, save the file; it will have an .RIS extension.
  2. Log in to EndNote.
    1. Under the Collect tab, select Import References .
    2. Click Browse to locate the saved file.
    3. From the Import Option drop-down menu, select RefMan RIS .
    4. From the To drop-down menu, select the group where you would like the record to be placed.
    5. Finally, click Import .

Oxford English Dictionary Online

  1. A Personal Profile is necessary to export records from this database.
    1. Create an account by clicking Sign in on the top-right.
  2. Search for the record(s) you wish to export.
    1. To view a record, click its title.
    2. On the top right, click Cite .
    3. In the pop-up:
      1. From the Format drop-down menu, select EndNote .
      2. Then, click Export .
      3. If prompted, save the file; it should be saved as an .ENW extension.
  3. Log in to EndNote.
    1. Under the Collect tab, select Import References.
    2. Click Browse to locate the saved file.
    3. From the Import Option drop-down menu, select EndNote Import .
    4. From the To drop-down menu, select the group where you would like the record to be placed.
    5. Finally, click Import .

Oxford Handbooks Online

  1. Search for the record(s) you wish to export.
    1. Click the result’s title to view its record.
    2. Below the title, click Cite .
    3. In the pop-up:
      1. From the Select format drop-down menu, select .enw (EndNote) .
      2. Then, click Download citation .
      3. If prompted, save the file; it will have an .ENW extension.
  2. Log in to EndNote.
    1. Under the Collect tab, select Import References .
    2. Click Browse to locate the saved file.
    3. From the Import Option drop-down menu, select EndNote Import .
    4. From the To drop-down menu, select the group where you would like the record to be placed.
    5. Finally, click Import .

Oxford History of Western Music Online

  1. Search for the record(s) you wish to export.
    1. Click the result’s title to view its record.
    2. On the top right of the record, click Cite .
    3. In the pop-up:
      1. From the Format drop-down menu, select EndNote .
      2. Then, click EXPORT .
      3. If prompted, save the file; it will have an .RIS extension.
  2. Log in to EndNote.
    1. Under the Collect tab, select Import References .
    2. Click Browse to locate the saved file.
    3. From the Import Option drop-down menu, select RefMan RIS .
    4. From the To drop-down menu, select the group where you would like the record to be placed.
    5. Finally, click Import .

Oxford Reports on International Law

Oxford Reports on International Law does not appear to support exporting records at this time.
